For this year only, the Cardinals wear caps with a "squarish top."  These "bellhop" caps were worn to commemorate of the 100th anniversary of the NL and the U.S. Bicentennial.

Reggie Smith clouts three home runs in a 7-6 win over the Phillies at Veterans Stadium on 5/22.

When former Cardinals pitcher John Denny posts a NL-best 2.52 ERA, he tied for the youngest ever to win an ERA crown.  He is 23.
