Highlights:
In February, new Astroturf is
installed which covers more of the infield as well. The only dirt in
the infield is for the sliding pits. The bullpens down the lines
are turned around so that the pitchers warm up facing the infield.
Fredbird makes his debut.
Bob Forsch pitches the first
no-hitter at Busch Stadium II on 4/16.
The Cards play the quickest game in
Busch Stadium II history, 1 hour 33 minutes, on 4/29. (1-0 win
over the Dodgers.)
Cardinals acquire George Hendrick
from the Padres on May 26th, for pitcher Eric Rasmussen.
George Hendrick collects 7 RBIs in
a game in Atlanta on 8/25. He had a grand slam and a three run shot.
